Hey, I got a question (or four)!

babbleliciousness asked:

Hi there! How is Baby William? I have been thinking of & praying for him. How is CeCe adjusting to life as a big sister? How are you & your husband adjusting to life as parents to two? I’m full of questions, huh? Hope you have a great day. And keep rocking this mom gig!

________

Baby William is doing great! I’ve taken to calling him Bug and I have a strange feeling it will stick way into the “Mom! Don’t call me that in front of the guys!” era. He has gained 10 oz since birth and is a ferocious eater. There are no signs of breathing problems (which is such a blessing!) but when he is 2 months we have to bring him in for a CT scan and meet with the surgeons about the results. He is a good baby but sometimes gets his days and nights confused, waking every two hours at night and sleeping four hour stretches during the day. When he gets it right though, like last night, it’s amazing! I got a total of 8 hours last night and he only had 2 feedings between 11 pm and 6 am!

Cece absolutely loves her brother… until he takes the spotlight. She is adjusting to the fact that the world doesn’t revolve around her. I have had to stay on top of her potty training because she will have accidents on purpose for attention. This is the hardest part of having two kids! I swear I am constantly following her around and helping her to adjust and then the second I coo at her brother she rebels. There are also beautiful moments when she coos at him, gives him kisses and sees his eyes open and freaks out with excitement. The other difficult thing is when my husband is home from work we end up dividing and conquering. We hardly get any time together and I feel like he is deprived of William time because Cece NEEDS his attention!

We have had some triumphs though! On Tuesday I returned my neighbor’s pie dish to her (she made us pot pie!) and walked over holding Cece’s hand and with William in the Moby wrap. She invited us in and Cece played with her three kids while we chatted and swooned over William’s head of blonde locks. Then yesterday I managed to get both kids and myself out the door by 10:30 for William’s doctor appointment. I used the stroller once we got there which was smart because otherwise it would have been a juggling act. Then after Kyle got home we hit up the grocery store as a family of four (again with the Moby wrap) and swung by Sonic to grab dinner - all tantrum free!

I’m a total homebody (read hermit) and stressed out every time I had to go somewhere with just one kid alone so I’m so proud of myself so far!

Thanks for the question, sorry I rambled :) Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts! Have a great day!
